Flagstaff Views is a building of forty apartments, built in 1996 on the former site of the Tattersalls headquarters in West Melbourne, Victoria.

Note that the original name for these apartments was Flagstaff Place, a name and logo which still appears on the glass panels at the four entrances on Dudley St – see the photograph below.

In November 2017 the Committee of Management, in planning for this website, discovered that Central Equity had registered ‘Flagstaff Place Apartments’ as a business name for their new building at 53 Batman St, West Melbourne – built in 2013, i.e. seventeen years after our building. Central Equity have also registered the domain names flagstaffplaceapartments.com, flagstaffplace.com and flagstaffplace.com.au – all of which resolve onto http://flagstaffplaceapartments.com.

To avoid an expensive legal dispute, the Committee decided to register a new business name Flagstaff Views and the domain name flagstaffviews.com.au for our apartment building. Given that all our apartments have direct views onto Flagstaff Gardens, the new name seems a much better and more distinctive name for our building anyway.
